MaGerks was a great bar and I went there a lot. But last night, my friend was tossed down a flight of stairs by the staff. Throwing your patrons down a flight of stairs does not recommend a place. MaGerks has lost control of their security staff and I would recommend staying away from this bar - you are at risk of injury to yourself and your property if you patronize this establishment.

MaGerks is a great pub to see hot girls and dance---although I don't dance. Federal Hill only real "Club"
However I like Magerks Bel Air even better than the orginal.

MaGerk's is quite possibly my favorite place in Fed Hill. I love the sports-themed atmosphere. You can go upstairs to where there's a dance floor and usually pretty good music, or downstairs where there are tables, chairs and barstools. It can get pretty crowded between 12-1 on Friday and saturday nights, and then it can be hard to get a drink. But whenever I am served the bartenders are really nice. I've rated their beer selection, but not the quality because, while I've bought beer for friends, I'm a liquor lady myself. The mixed drinks, btw, are good and well-priced.
I like the crowd at MaGerk's. Not too posh, too dirty, too old, or too young. There's a good mix and everyone seems to be very nice. Also, I happened to have met my boyfriend there, so that speaks well of the company in the bar.

This place is lousy. On the weekends it's a rowdy crowd- you can drink for cheap if you like really crappy beer...otherwise... go somewhere else! One would fare better at a frat party! DJs on weekends upstairs... lousy music - akin to college frat party with a smidge of pop/rap. It's very difficult to get served... bars seem to be understaffed..

Was there last night at around 7:30 and couldn't get any service. We sat in the lower street level section at a window, the bartender and a waitress working the area looked over at me multiple times but i guess the empty table and thirsty and hungry look on our faces escaped them both. Usually we have had good prompt service here as we have been going there for years for a cheesesteak and cold pint. With all the 20somethings there maybe my 40ish business was not welcome any longer. After 25 minutes of being ignored we left and went to the Mad River across the street where we were noticed within a minute of sitting.

This is a great bar to visit, especially if you are a Philadelphia Eagles fan! They always play the games on brand new flat screen TV's and the service, food, and beer selection is great. They make a decent cheese steak. They also offer a sushi bar. The atmosphere is very charming and they have pretty good specials during the week. The weekends get very crowded(20's to 40's) and they have a DJ playing music upstairs and room to dance. We can't get enough of the place.
